Minor worker died at construction site in Minsk

On May 29, a 17-year-old young man died at a construction facility in Minsk on Penzenskiy Street, who, while carrying out work on the twelfth floor, fell into an unfenced elevator shaft and died on the spot as a result of injuries, the press service of the Investigative Committee of Belarus reported on May 30. Investigators examined the scene, interviewed the organization's employees, seized health and safety documents and ordered a forensic examination. The Oktyabrsky District Department of the Investigative Committee of Minsk initiated criminal proceedings under article 303, paragraph 2, of the Criminal Code of Belarus. The sanction of the second part of this article provides for restriction of liberty for up to five years or imprisonment for two to seven years.
