Potentially dangerous asteroid will approach Earth on the first day of September


The approach to Earth of a potentially dangerous asteroid 2011 ES4 is expected on September 1. This was reported on August 29 by NASA (US National Aeronautics and Space Administration). According to NASA, the size of the celestial body is relatively small compared to others from 22 to 49 meters. However, it is expected to approach the Earth at a distance of 120 thousand kilometers, which is almost three times less than the distance from our planet to the Moon (about 384 thousand km). The flight speed of the space guest will be 8.16 kilometers per second, at the nearest distance to Earth it will approach September 1 at 19:12 Moscow time. The asteroid was discovered in 2011 and belongs to the Apollo group, which includes space bodies whose flight routes cross the orbit of the Earth. Earlier, the news agency reported that the US military is preparing for the possible fall of a giant asteroid to Earth.
