More than half of Chinese Hubei enterprises resumed operations


Nearly half of the major industrial enterprises in Hubei Province in central China resumed production as the coronavirus epidemic weakened, Xinhua news agency reported on March 18. As the head of the provincial Department of Economics and Information Technology Wang Tsiyan said, only 7,629 local enterprises started working. This is especially true for those of extreme importance to production chains. Such enterprises included automakers and pillars of the region's economy, such as phosphate fertilizer factories, electronic industry enterprises, and optical fiber for communications systems. All employees of these enterprises are provided with face masks, disinfectants, liquid soap, infrared thermometers and other items for at least five days of use.
