In Sweden, medical students are ready to provide medical care free of charge

Students of medical universities in Sweden actively offer their services to medical institutions free of charge. Through their actions, students seek to strengthen the country's health system in the fight against the COVID-19 virus. This was reported by the Swedish edition of Sveriges Radio on March 17. Initiative group Medical students go to help, starting from March 14, accepts applications from students of senior courses of medical universities and faculties of Sweden. According to the founders of the movement, about a third of all medical students in the country who are in the last year of study (almost 500 people) stated their desire to help. The health-care system is already under serious strain, and all health-care sectors will need additional medical personnel. Most of all, the system will need doctors and nurses, said the representative of the initiative group Nora Almer. The organizers of the movement accept applications to transfer them to the State Office of Social Protection of the Population of Sweden so that it can call medical students for help if necessary.
