30 years ago in Yakutia proclaimed a course on sovereignty

On September 27, 1990, the Declaration on State Sovereignty was adopted in Yakutia. It served as the basis for the future constitution, which gave the president of the republic the authority to form an army. Yakutia also received the right to dispose of the resources mined on its territory. Subsequently, this caused a conflict between local authorities and Moscow. In 2009, Yakutia was persuaded to remove articles on sovereignty from its constitution.
