Ukraine filed a complaint with the UN Secretary General at a parade in Sevastopol

Ukraine appealed to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres in connection with the parade in Sevastopol in honor of Navy Day. The corresponding letter signed by the representative of Ukraine to the UN, Sergey Kislitsa, was published on July 28 by the Ukrinform news agency. "Ukraine considers holding this event in the temporarily occupied city of Sevastopol without the consent of the Ukrainian side as another violation of international law by the Russian Federation, the document says. The authors of the letter consider the parade a conscious escalation of tension in Russian-Ukrainian relations, as well as a real threat to regional security. Ukraine demands that the Russian Federation immediately cease international illegal actions against the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, the text of the appeal says. Journalists also noted that this letter will be distributed as an official document of the General Assembly and the UN Security Council. According to the news agency, earlier Ukraine sent a note of protest to Russia in connection with the parade. Secretary of the Military Scientific Society of the Black Sea Fleet, professor of the Academy of Military Sciences of the Russian Federation Sergey Gorbachev called it ritual dances of Ukrainian officials. Recall that Crimea became part of Russia in 2014 following a referendum in which the vast majority of the population of the peninsula approved this idea. The Ukrainian authorities ignore the results of the will of the inhabitants of Crimea, as well as the fact that the coup in Kiev was the reason for the referendum.
