Russia and China not against arms embargo on Iran - opinion

Having broken the nuclear deal with Iran, the United States neglected the interests of the European Union and Russia, said political analyst Alexei Mukhin. He stated this on June 25 to a news agency correspondent, commenting on US promises to isolate the Russian Federation and China in the UN Security Council if Moscow and Beijing refuse to support an arms embargo against Iran. Russia and China do not oppose the arms embargo, Mukhin said. They oppose the irresponsible behavior of the United States, which unilaterally canceled the nuclear deal and thereby created a very serious precedent and a very serious imbalance in the situation in Eurasia. This deal was not only between the United States and Iran. It is multilateral. It involved both Russia and the European Union, whose interests the United States neglected. This, as Mukhin emphasized, caused a persistent rejection of what the United States is doing in the Middle East. Recall, as reported by the news agency, US State Department Special Representative for Iran Brian Hook and American Permanent Representative to the UN Kelly Kraft called on members of the organization's Security Council to extend the arms embargo against Iran.
