Tanzania introduced new security measures in educational institutions
The Government of Tanzania has issued new detailed guidelines for schools, colleges and other educational institutions, following their full opening on Monday, 29 June. This was reported by the Air Force Swahili with reference to a statement by the Minister of Health of Tanzania, Ummi Mwalimu. Among the guidelines, allowing children under the age of eight, as well as students with diseases such as asthma, sickle cell anemia and heart disease, not to wear masks. The Minister of Health noted that students should not wear masks during exercise, such as running and other games. She added that all premises in schools should be uninfected, and the schools themselves should be equipped with places for washing hands, and the management of educational institutions should not require students to bring sanitary supplies. Owners of school buses were ordered to provide students with disinfectants before they get into transport, and public transport operators to follow the instructions given to them earlier. The Minister instructed regional health professionals to conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with protocols for the prevention of coronavirus during classes.
